Starfield Companion by Alex Margulis
Effective March 19, 2026Starfield Companion is a reference app for the video game Starfield. It lets you browse and search game data on your phone. Core data is bundled for offline use; images are loaded from a CDN and cached locally. The app does not have user accounts. We do not intentionally collect personal information.
We do not intentionally collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
There are no accounts, no sign-ins, no forms, and no user-generated content. The app does not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, location, or any other on-device data.
The app makes network requests for two purposes:
1. OTA Updates
The app connects to Expo's servers to check for and download over-the-air (OTA) application updates. To our knowledge, these requests include only non-identifying technical metadata:
2. Game Images
When you view skill icons or item images that are not bundled with the app, these are fetched from GitHub Pages (charnel.github.io) and cached locally on your device for subsequent offline use. These requests transmit only the standard HTTP headers your device sends with any web request (e.g. IP address, user-agent). No personal data, identifiers, or usage analytics are included.
A small set of default skill icons is bundled directly with the app for immediate offline access. All other images are loaded on-demand and cached to disk after first retrieval.
No other third-party services are used.
The app contains no analytics, no crash-reporting SDKs, no advertising networks, and no tracking pixels. We do not track how you use the app.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Because we do not intentionally collect personal data from any user, no age-gated measures are required.
All game data (text, stats, recipes) is bundled within the app at build time and stored locally on your device. Game images are fetched over HTTPS and cached locally. OTA update checks also use HTTPS encryption in transit.
If the app's data practices change in the future, this policy will be updated and the effective date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
